Today was a welcomed Sea Day. After six consecutive days of up early and out, it always relaxing to have a free day. I got some exercise in this morning, mostly jogging around Deck 10, which is awesome!
Light breakfast since we have an invitation for a special luncheon for 3,4 and 5 Star Mariners (we're 3, Frequent Cruisers). Interestingly, they reported about 600 people at the event, which is about 1/3 of the total passengers. Shows you how loyal their customers are! The lunch was excellent, I had a Parsley Soup and beautiful Filet Mignon!
This afternoon's program was an hour with the captain, describing his career as a ship captain and answering our questionts about the ship. Holland America Line is part of the Carnival Group which, all told, includes a fleet of about 100 cruise ships!
Today was also Cake Day, which they do every cruise. The kitchen crews make all these delectible and overly decorated cakes which are displayed and then cut up for everyone to eat!
After no time at all, it was time for dinner. Eating again! Evening show was the singer/saxaphonist/guitarist. Meh.
Tomorrow is a day everyone looks forward to - a visit to Half Moon Cay, Holland's own "private island" with a spectacular beach and BBQ lunch. Last time were here the water was too cold! Hopefully, its warmer this time.
(Note: Trump's war vs. Iran continues, as does Ukrain vs. Russia. World oil market are in chaos. The TSA agents are still unpaid and horror stories are coming out of airports.)
